A two person 15 foot hiking dinghy designed in 1954 by Uffa Fox. The Albacore is a boat that suits beginner sailors through to full on racing and has a powerful vang and adjustable sail that allows for light through to heavy crews whilst enabling the sailor to depower the rig in high winds.
It is a restricted class where the hull and sail shapes can’t change. It has boats in approximately thirty sailing clubs in the UK with fleets of six to thirty boats per club.Based on racing record Super Spars are the undisputed top choice of spars
11 World and National titles since 2001

The rig has proved to be reliable in in a full range of weather conditions and light through to heavy crew weights.
The M2 is suitable for combined weights around or above 165Kgs (26 stones) below that the M7 is more suitable.
Our superior mast tubes provide superb gust response with fast reaction return to mast and sail shape which keeps you sailing at maximum speed.
If you want to find out more about the real difference, go to about us, Aluminium Technology.
Our rig allows the sailor to keep the "Big Rig" undercontrol. The rig has been enhanced recently through the addition of our fully adjustable spreader bracket enabling you to change rig settings to suit changing wind conditions between races.
"We are using Macs sails and spreaders length 16" with 6.5" deflection in middle conditions, and 7" in light. Rake is 23'00" for middle winds and 23'3" for light airs. Information for heavier air settings is due in the very near future. Rig tension is set so that the bottom, (leeward), shroud is just slack when the crew sits out. As a general rule for pre-bend and ram - when the crew comes inboard from the side deck start to use pre-bend, and when they are on the side deck use ram." - Judy Armstrong.
